Megan Brown

Teacher, History

Bachelor Arts, Education and History, Stonehill College

Miss Brown is in her 4th year teaching Level 1 (6th Grade) History at the Founders Academy. Born and raised in New Hampshire, Miss Brown loves the Granite State, its history and taking advantage of its beautiful landscape. In 2016, She graduated from Stonehill College with a degree in Education and History. Before teaching, she spent time in Washington D.C. working at the Library of Congress as a researcher, where she had access to the world's largest collection of sources documenting American history and contributed to the production of several books that make use of the rich sources available at the LOC.

As a historian, she focuses on the larger social implications of people, places, and events rather than trivial dates and names. She is devoted to energizing, strengthening and re-rooting the relationship between history and education, and believes that doing so starts with passion and excitement in the classroom. She seeks to challenge her students to learn from yesterday to enhance their understanding of today and to shape their contributions to tomorrow.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, spoiling her 3 cats, and planning her upcoming wedding. She also loves to read, bake cookies, and craft. Miss Brown loves the challenges and rewards of teaching 6th grade at Founders and is excited for another year!
