Megan Brown

Teacher, History

Bachelor Arts, Education and History, Stonehill College

Born and raised in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire, Megan loves the Granite State, its history and taking advantage of its beautiful landscape. Megan graduated from Stonehill College with a degree in Education and History. She spent time in Washington D.C. working at the Library of Congress as a researcher, where she had access to the world's largest collection of sources documenting American history and contributed to the production of several books that make use of the rich sources available at the LOC.

As a historian, she focuses on the larger social implications of people, places, and events rather than trivial dates and names. She is devoted to energizing, strengthening and re-rooting the relationship between history and education, and believes that doing so starts with passion and excitement in the classroom. She seeks to challenge her students to learn from yesterday to enhance their understanding of today and to shape their contributions to tomorrow.

In her free time she enjoys fresh-water fishing, reading, baking, doing sudoku puzzles, and playing with her kitten, Lady Liberty. She likes to be an active and positive participant in her community, where she volunteers for her local Fire Department and Historical Society.
