OPEN POSITIONS

Administrative Assistant

The Founders Academy is a public charter middle-high school in Manchester, NH. It is dedicated to educating ethical citizens and leaders, who are knowledgeable about our history and dedicated to preserving our liberty.

The school is seeking an administrative assistant for the 2020-2021 school year, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, working with staff and students in a variety of settings. The position would entail skillful use of school management software, excellent communication skills for both in-person and on-line situations, organization skills, and an ability to work with students and staff in committees and during scheduled and unplanned student activities. Flexibility, resourcefulness and software expertise are keys to success in this position.

Special Education Teacher

The Founders Academy is seeking a Special Education teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The Special Education Teacher will act as a facilitator to support academic, social, behavioral and emotional growth of students. 


Qualifications:

  • Certified or able to be certified prior to the start of the school year as a Special Educator in NH
  • Master’s Degree in Education
  • Experience working with middle and high school students
  • Highly organized

  • Experience overseeing IEPs, writing goals, and supporting teachers with implementation of IEP goals, modifications and accommodations

  • Able to provide direct instruction to individual students, small groups of students, and in class for students

  • Able to support teachers in implementing IEP goals and in making appropriate accommodations and modifications for students.

  • Familiarity with the Orton-Gillingham Approach, Stevenson Program or another multisensory reading program, preferred. 


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all students with IEPs

  • Collaborate with sending school districts to develop IEP goals and monitor progress for students with IEPs.

  • Maintain regular ongoing communication with parents and teachers of students with IEPs.

  • Provide instruction to students in individual, group settings as stipulated in the IEP.

  • Assist teachers and staff in implementing and tracking IEP goals, modifications, and accomodations.

  • Participate in transition planning for all IEP students transitioning from middle to high school or from high school to post-high school.

  • Monitor implementation of IEP goals, modifications, and accomodations.

  • Maintain documentation of IEP goals, modifications, accommodations, and student progress.

Para-Educator 

The Founders Academy Public Charter School, grades 6-12, is seeking an experienced middle / high school para-educator with a passion for helping students to succeed. The mission of the school is to develop educated citizens and leaders who are knowledgeable about our past and who will apply the principles expressed in our founding documents to make wise choices to preserve our liberty while preparing students to use the 21st century skills to compete in the society we live in.  

The para-educator performs a variety of instructional and/or support duties to assist the school and teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students with special needs. May work with students on an individual basis or in small groups to help complete assigned work and keep students on task.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who has a high school diploma, two or more years of college preferred, and who has experience working with students in a middle or high school setting.

School Counselor for 2020-2021


The Founders Academy Public Charter School, grades 6-12, is seeking a NH certified, passionate school counselor for the 2020-2021 school year. This is a full-time position for a person who will work under the supervision of the Director of Student Services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to assist students, parents and school personnel in developing and implementing effective programming to support academic, behavioral, and social and emotional growth. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Master’s Degree in School Counseling and NH Certification (0040) required. Special Education and Middle /High School experience preferred. Familiarity with college and career counseling and standardized test administration ideal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Start date is July 1, 2020. This is a year-round position with health insurance benefits available.

Math Middle School Teacher Full-Time for the 2020-2021 School Year

The Founders Academy Public Charter School seeks a teacher of middle school mathematics. Director of Faculty for 2020-2021 School Year

The Founders Academy, a chartered public school in Manchester, NH serving grades 6-12, is seeking an experienced teacher-administrator to serve as Director of Faculty, starting in 2020-21. Substitute Teachers (Per Diem) for the 2019-2020 School Year

The Founders Academy Public Charter School seeks paid substitute teachers for middle and high school. Subjects covered can vary from the Humanities to the math and sciences.  The position is per day as needed from 7:30AM until 3:30PM. The rate is $75/per day. Anticipated Opening: Computer Science Middle School Teacher Full-Time for the 2020-2021 School Year

The Founders Academy public charter school, grades 6-12, seeks an experienced middle school computer science teacher.  This is an anticipated opening for the 2020-2021 academic year to accommodate student population growth and program expansion.   We are looking for someone with a passion for teaching mostly 6th & 7th grade students . We are looking for an individual with a passion for and an in-depth knowledge of digital tools to support academic learning in all content areas. The mission of the school is to develop educated citizens and leaders who are knowledgeable about our past and who will apply the principles expressed in our founding documents to make wise choices to preserve our liberty while preparing students for the 21st century skills to compete in the current technology enriched society we live in. This is a unique opportunity for a computer science teacher/technology integration specialists to participate in the implementation of a challenging, and meaningful curriculum that emphasizes the use of technology in project-based learning to support skill development for success in all academic areas. 

Applicants should be well versed in Google Apps for Education, various web tools such as but not limited to WeVideo, Scratch, Code.org, Prezi, Animoto, and EdPuzzle. Familiarity with LanSchool is a plus.
