Kevin Tellier retired from the North Middlesex Regional School District in June 2015 after thirty-five years of distinguished Performing Arts teaching in grades four - twelve. Mr. Tellier received proclamations from both the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives recognizing his ‘outstanding’ and ‘exceptional’ career as a music educator. Kevin has also taught at the Austin Preparatory School, served as an educational consultant for a NH school system and continues to offer professional development workshops for educators interested in Music Learning Theory.

Mr. Tellier’s concert and jazz ensembles have presented over 700 school, community and festival performances. As a community service, his former middle school marching band performed in every Memorial Day Parade since May of 1980. Mr. Tellier’s students have always been selected for the annual Central Massachusetts District Music Festival, with several as first-chair, principal players. Kevin’s concert and jazz bands have consistently received exemplary awards including earning featured performances at Symphony Hall and Mechanics Hall. His jazz ensembles have received multiple gold medals, and have on several occasions, earned the coveted ‘Outstanding Jazz Ensemble’ award at the University of New Hampshire Clark Terry Festival.

Mr. Tellier is an active member of the National Music Educators Association, Massachusetts Music Educators Association, New Hampshire Music Educators Association and the National Band Association. He holds Music Education teaching licenses from both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Mr. Tellier is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Best Educators, has been selected and honored by former students as the teacher who has inspired them the most, and was nominated for Massachusetts’s Teacher of the Year. Mr. Tellier is a multi-instrumentalist and continues to perform as a freelance percussionist. Kevin has completed extensive graduate work focusing on Music Learning Theory and Instrumental Music pedagogy with Edwin E. Gordon (Temple University), and well as Richard Grunow and Christopher Azzara from the Eastman School of Music.

Mr. Tellier resides in Merrimack, NH with his wife Cindy. He enjoys reading, competitive ping-pong, traveling, and spending time with his three amazing grandsons.
