Message from the Dean of School
Welcome to The Founders Academy Public Charter School where students are the “leaders of the future” and the “guardians of our liberty.” The Founders Academy is both a middle and high school centered on its mission and curriculum. Please enjoy browsing this website to familiarize yourself with the mission, vision, expectations and curriculum at Founders.
The school exists to inspire good character in students in order to foster responsible leadership and citizenship, the best means to secure our nation and guard our liberty. As we enter our third year, the students will formally study under “The Founding Fathers’ Character and Leadership Curriculum.” This carefully selected title for the curriculum through twelfth grade emphasizes the mission of the school: to provide a classical education grounded in leadership, history, character-building, and liberty.
This past year, eight phrases were selected to summarize the school’s mission, themes, and purpose. The phrases hold places of prominence on the school's website and palm cards. They are:
Building our character
Knowing our history
Challenging our students
Upholding our values
Exercising our leadership
Serving our community
Guarding our liberty
Honoring our heroes.
These phrases encapsulate actions that the students and teachers take to bring the mission to life. The concepts are interwoven into daily Round Tables, as well as each subject area to foster academic excellence, patriotism, and good citizenship.
It is a privilege to serve as Dean of School at The Founders Academy. My focus remains steadfast on the school’s mission and the best interest of each individual student.
