OPEN POSITIONS


Front Desk Operator (Part-time)

Major duties and responsibilities: Working closely with the Dean of School, faculty, students, parents and volunteers in a fast paced school environment of 300 students, and 40 employees. Performing administrative duties for a school community. Responsibilities may include screening calls and taking messages; managing calendars; scheduling meetings; database management; typing, filing, student/parent/faculty relations, multi-media, volunteer coordination, and all other duties relevant to handling the front desk. Requires strong computer and Internet skills, organizational skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of management, faculty and staff, as well as parents, students and volunteers. Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.

Minimum Qualifications: Strong organizational skills. Ability to type 40-60 words per minute, and follow careful instructions. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, email, internet, Google docs, Google calendar, creating and maintaining data bases, records and notes, transcribing notes, correspondences, blast emails, Facebook, Twitter, updating basic web site pages, dictation, and filing. Administrative assistance experience in academia or public service preferred.

Science Teacher Full-Time (2017-2018 School Year)
 
The Founders Academy chartered public school seeks a teacher of integrated science, including chemistry, physics, earth science, environmental science, and biology for the 2017-2018 school year and beyond. Certain other grade sections including chemistry, earth and space science, biology, and physical science are also taught. Teaching experience, a passion for the subject, and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment are desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative teacher to assist in the development of an innovative curriculum according to his or her own gifts and interests. High School Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship Course (Part Time) for the 2017-2018 School Year
 
The Founders Academy is looking for a knowledgeable, experienced professional to teach a course in personal and business finance, accounting and entrepreneurship to high school students.  The course would include such areas as managing personal money transactions, protecting against unforeseen events, evaluating tax policies on personal and business finance, learning how credit and credit ratings work, developing a savings plan, and learning about the array of investment instruments available in today’s market place and how to use them.

The ideal teacher would have business experience and a love of the subject. This is an opportunity to create a curriculum that will give students practical, hands-on experience in the world of finance that will empower them to make informed decisions about their financial futures.

About The Founders Academy
Founded in 2014, The Founders Academy is a free public charter school for grades 6-12 located at 5 Perimeter Road in Manchester. This fall, the school will offer grades 6-11.   The school's mission focuses on the virtues of the Founding Fathers, leadership, character building, classical and challenging education in the core subjects and elective courses.   Established by the Founders Academy Foundation, the school offers the opportunity for each student to pursue mastery in their studies.
