Title 1 Teacher

Teacher certification is required or eligible for teacher certification.
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday through Friday 7:45am - 3:15pm

Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.

Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and to provide proper assistance to the supervisor assigned.
An understanding of the social, emotional, and intellectual characteristics of children.
Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities.

This person will serve as the Title I teacher, providing academic supports to students, schoolwide, in the form of intervention or enrichment.

Duties:
Proficiency with setting goals for students, collecting and using data systems to track student growth, communicate with other teachers concerning this data, and use data to drive instructional decisions on a regular basis.
Maintain and update student achievement data using various screenings.
Motivate and engage students to help develop skills and knowledge needed to provide a solid academic foundation in accordance with each student's ability.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lessons and supports that are curriculum-aligned.
Provide effective and efficient communication with teachers and parents regarding students’ academic progress.
Effectively plan and teach intervention or enrichment skills for groups of students in need.
Implement and uphold effective classroom management in order to provide an environment conducive to the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success of all students.
Be organized, flexible, innovative, and motivated to research and create engaging, focused, and personalized lessons for students.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
Establish effective rapport with students; be patient.
Establish collaborative relationships with parents and other staff members.
Uphold school-wide initiatives and expectations.
Present as a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school.
Keep informed of and comply with state, local, and school regulations and policies for classrooms including health and safety.
Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
Other duties as assigned by the building principal or Title I Director.

Special Education Teacher

The Founders Academy Public Charter School, grades 6-12, seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher who will act as a facilitator to support academic, social, behavioral and emotional growth of students. 

Qualifications:
Certified or able to be certified prior to the start of the school year as a Special Educator in NH.
Master’s Degree in Education
Experience working with middle and high school students
Highly organized
Experience overseeing IEPs, writing goals, and supporting teachers with implementation of IEP goals, modifications and accommodations
Able to provide direct instruction to individual students, small groups of students, and in class for students
Able to support teachers in implementing IEP goals and in making appropriate accommodations and modifications for students.
Familiarity with the Orton-Gillingham Approach, Stevenson Program or another multisensory reading program, preferred. 

Responsibilities:
Oversee all students with IEPs
Collaborate with sending school districts to develop IEP goals and monitor progress for students with IEPs.
Maintain regular ongoing communication with parents and teachers of students with IEPs.
Provide instruction to students in individual, group settings as stipulated in the IEP.
Assist teachers and staff in implementing and tracking IEP goals, modifications, and accommodations.
Participate in transition planning for all IEP students transitioning from middle to high school or from high school to post-high school.
Monitor implementation of IEP goals, modifications, and accommodations.
Maintain documentation of IEP goals, modifications, accommodations, and student progress.

Substitute Teachers (Per Diem) for the 2020-2021 School Year


The Founders Academy Public Charter School seeks paid substitute teachers for middle and high school. Subjects covered can vary from the Humanities to the math and sciences. The position is per day as needed from 7:30AM until 3:30PM. The rate is $75/per day. Detailed course descriptions and syllabi for classes at Founders can be found online at www.thefoundersacademy.org.

Preferred requirements include previous teaching experience, a passion for education, and the ability to work well in a collaborative and flexible environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or an experienced  teacher.

Internships

An internship at The Founders Academy provides excellent exposure to a fast-paced, professional, academic environment for those interested in a career in teaching and / or school administration.

The Founders Academy seeks individuals interested in unpaid internships to assist with school administration. Interns will work with school administrators, teachers and students in the daily affairs of a charter school dedicated to leadership, history and liberty. Proficiency on Windows, Word, and Google Docs, along with excellent interpersonal skills and professional confidentiality are required.

Position is subject to reference and background checks. Scheduling is flexible.
