Patricia G. Humphrey, M.Ed. - Founder, Board Member

Patricia Humphrey is a devoted supporter of the public charter school movement and has offered much of her life to this cause. She is the Founder of the New Hampshire Center for Innovative School (NHCIS) and a Founder of the Academy for Science and Design (ASD) in Nashua. Patricia is an experienced school administrator, educator, and board director. She has taught K-8 in New York City and in New Hampshire, and has directed a unique, independent school in New York City. Patty has extensive experience with public policy and fund-raising.

Kimberly Lavallee - Founder, Treasurer, Board Member
Kimberly Lavallee is an active supporter of the Public Charter School movement. She is a Co-Founder of The Founders Academy Foundation and serves as the Treasurer. In addition, Mrs. Lavellee currently serves as a board member of the Academy for Science and Design, a Public Charter School in Nashua. She currently chairs the personnel committee. Kimberly’s professional background is in the commercial and residential real-estate industry where she worked for 23 years in the appraisal field, managing approximately 70 appraisers throughout three states. She is also a devoted mother of two boys that keep her very busy.

Richard Hyotte, Chairman, Board Member
Rick Hyotte is currently the Director of National Sales for Davis IT & Engineering and has been for over 10 years. Davis is a National Staffing Agency that provides Engineering and IT Professionals all over the country. He relies on his communication abilities to build strong, lasting relationships with clients, to ensure they reach their business goals. By taking the time to understand the needs of clients, and acquiring detailed knowledge of business trends, growth potential, and other related issues surrounding the clients, Rick is able to provide quality customer service. In addition, he is able to manage multiple high volume accounts and manage a team of sales professionals. His efforts facilitated in the internal growth and expansion of existing business,billings, and company’s profit. Before joining Davis he worked at a Fundraising and Event Company (All-Pro Productions & All Pro Appearance) where they raised millions of dollars for various charities and planned corporate events for area businesses. Prior to All-Pro Productions, Rick was the Executive Producer of The Big Show on Sports Radio WEEI in Boston. Rick Hyotte graduated from Curry College with a Bachelors' in Business Administration and a minor in Communication- 1993.
 
Sean Thomas, Board Member
Sean Thomas is a native of Framingham, Massachusetts and a longtime political activist in his adopted home of Manchester, New Hampshire. A 1992 graduate of St. Anselm College with a degree in Mathematics, Thomas has served as a political advisor to former Manchester Mayors Raymond Wieczorek and Frank Guinta, as the Property & Contracts Manager at Boston-Manchester Regional Airport and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to US Congressman Frank Guinta. His service to his community extends beyond the political realm being an active member of St. Raphael’s Church in Manchester and as a former Board Member of New Horizons for New Hampshire. He was named as one of 40 Under Forty for the Class of 2009 and his personal interests include ice hockey, golf, mediaeval history, Gregorian chant, cooking and reading.


Maureen Anson, Board Member, Secretary
Maureen Anson is currently the Assistant Treasurer and Controller for a small community bank in Massachusetts with assets in excess of $140M.  She comes to The Founders Academy with more than 25 years of experience in accounting and finance with expertise in financial reporting and analysis, regulatory reporting, auditing and budgeting.  As a member of the bank's management team, she also serves as a member of the Asset/Liability Management Committee (ALCO) focusing on interest rate risk management and liquidity and funds management.  A devoted mom of a teenage son, she has been a parent volunteer for both recreational baseball and basketball programs in her community.  Maureen is a graduate of Rivier University and holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting.

Kristi Scarpone - FIRST
Kristi Scarpone is a results-driven non-profit fundraiser with more than 25 years of experience working with Fortune 100 companies, high-net worth individuals, and private and family foundations. Her unique approach of aligning people’s philanthropic goals with similarly focused institutions has created unparalleled fundraising success for organizations such as For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), LitWorld, Habitat for Humanity and Global Force for Healing. She has mentored non-profit organizations across the country for more than two decades and currently manages a multi-million dollar portfolio in her fundraising role at FIRST, a global K-12 STEM and robotics program.

As a former teacher, Kristi finds great joy in teaching others the art and science of fundraising. She has taught college courses and created a video series for kids to teach the fundamentals of budgeting, asking and stewarding. She created a partnership between Donorschoose.org and FIRST to leverage corporate and crowdfunding to bring STEM to America’s highest poverty schools. She is a voice for underserved and underrepresented students by bringing financial resources and opportunity to where it is needed the most.

Locally, Kristi serves on the board of New Horizons for NH, and is active within the Palace Youth Theatre community where her twin daughters perform frequently.

Liam Childers - Student Representative
Liam Childers was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 12th, 2002. Having lived in the city for 14 years, he gained a keen interest in politics. This led him to go to the Founders Academy after moving to New Hampshire in September, 2016. Liam is now in the 10th grade at the school and loves it. He appreciates the multiple clubs and political visitors at the school along with the helpful teachers. Liam looks forward to continuing a great year at Founders.
